My Trick or Treaters!

I think they are possibly the cutest boys I have ever seen!

One problem... do you see how GROWN UP Evan looks???

And, he's not into "cute" anymore if you can't tell from his choice of pumpkin designs!  He was so proud!  

He kept changing his mind on his costume... and finally decided on being an Army Captain.  We got the ACU (kid sized) from the local Army Navy store, found a couple of cool iron on patches at Michael's, and then I used plain green iron on knee patches to make his name, US ARMY and rank patches. 

I used the same pattern I used for Evan's monkey costume when he was 2 for Ryan's... just the larger size!  He was NOT a fan of the hood, but didn't want to take of the jumpsuit.  

When we got home last night, someone had decorated the lot stake directly across from our house.  

The boys loved it... and were a bit freaked out by it!  

We also had the special treat of trick or treating with Grandma Joycee who stayed with us last night!

The boys were very excited... and having her there was just the icing on the cake!  I'm glad she got to be there... because...

How could you miss this????

Eye of Newt and Toe of Frog...

I'm sure if Shakespeare could have worked it in, there would have been a line about hula-hoops...

We got the cousins together today, and one of the stops we made was at Gardner Village, which currently has all the witches out on display! 

The kids had a blast wandering through the village looking at all the funny displays, however, the hula hooping witch was for sure their favorite!

While Aunt Casey was introduced to the wonderful bead shop, the kids and I played with the witches and snuck away to get a fresh cookie and a warm hot cocoa from the bakery!

Candy Bag or Candy Trough... You decide!

Last year, I saw THESE adorable candy corn trick or treat bags on one of my favorite websites, The Purl Bee .  I didn't have the time to make them last year, but knew, without a doubt, that I needed to make them before my last little boy out grew them!

Well, Saturday, Ryan and I took a trip to JoAnne's to pick up the fleece to make his Halloween costume, and while I was there, I picked up some felt and some adorable variegated thread that I just couldn't pass up, even though the instructions made NO MENTION of the need for cute top stitching!  (Once again, there I go not following directions!  And believe me, that wasn't the only place I made alterations!)

Well, I think it turned out pretty darn cute!  He calls it his Ice Cream Bag.  He obviously has not learned the wonders of Candy Corn yet!

Late Halloween Pictures

Mostly, Halloween was spent with me chasing this:

I didn't get ANY pictures on Halloween itself.  However, the following week, my parents were coming to town and I talked Evan into showing off his Clone Trooper costume.  He threw in some kicks and other fight moves..... And the skunk, who did not understand that skunks did not have fight moves, would not stand still for his picture.  I ended up with a lot of this:

Which, I guess, really is what a skunk fight move would look like....

But alas... I do not have any beautifully posed smiling pictures of my cute little skunk in my cute little skunk costume.
