Sigh

It's MONDAY.

That's really all I have to say.

Monday, September 13

It just makes cleaning BETTER.

I'm guilty of buying Mrs Meyer's products... mostly because it makes me enjoy cleaning up after three messy boys.... I can scrub a floor and enjoy the wonderful smell of Lemon Verbena and it makes it feel... well... like a luxury.

Folding sheets and towels that have a delicate lavender scent... oh so relaxing.

And my favorite, which isn't pictured, is the Room Freshener.  A house full of stinky, sweaty, dirt covered boys just disappears for a bit after you spray it!

So, the cost is offset by maintaining my sanity.  I think it' well worth it.

Better Blogger...

I keep thinking, "Oh, I'll post that story once I take the pictures off my camera..."  And then, when I take the pictures off...  I have the 2 minutes of peace to get the pictures off before Ryan starts a. screaming, b. getting into something that will kill him, or c. tries to help me type.

Like right now, he's standing on the kitchen table, trying to reach the light fixture... and crying because he can't.

I should probably stop typing and get him down before he falls and cracks his head open on the tile floor.

Plans for today include:  Making some chutney from my yummy cherry tomatoes, a picnic at the park, and general play with the boys to keep them entertained enough NOT to destroy the house.

Broohaha

We (as in everyone) should use that word more often. It just makes things seem "less" crazy, and more commical and managable!

Close Call

So, not long ago, Mark took the truck into the dealer for a complete brake job.  (For those of you who don't know, Mark drives a 3/4 Ton Crew Cab Dodge Ram with a long bed... ie BIG TRUCK.)

Last night he was coming home from a job site, pulling a fairly heavy trailer, and as he came to the stop sign, right before the on ramp to one of the nation's deadliest highways, his front wheel locked up.

Luckily, he was coming to a stop, not driving dangerously curvy mountain roads at high speed... which he was literally seconds from doing.

The tech who had worked on his truck had forgotten one small, but rather important step.  Tightening the bolts.

One of the bolts had finally walked it's way out, and caused the tire/brake to seize.

Seriously, if it had happened five minutes later, he would have been going 60 plus miles an hour, and with the heavy trailer, it would have been a horrible horrible accident.

When they got under the truck and realized what had happened, they checked every wheel, and sure enough, all the bolts were loose.  Every last one of them.

Needless to say, there were some choice words exchanged, and the truck is back in the shop for a complete wheel/brake check up.

Due Date

So today was my due date.

It's purely symbolic, especially since both my boys came well before their official due date.

But it doesn't matter.

Today is the day.

I've been trying not to put too much weight on the day.  I've tried to avoid the "countdown", but no matter how much I tried to avoid thinking about it, it's here.  And it hurts more than I thought it would.

But I also think that today is the day when I can finally start moving forward.

The last few months have been harder than I thought they would be... several friends are expecting, and each and every milestone, no matter how happy I was for them, has been a sharp painful reminder.

Today feels like a "funeral" day.

I have a really awesome boss, who, without question, told me to take the day off.  Pretty amazing for a 40 something single man!

So both of the boys are at daycare/school... Mark is at work, and I have the day to myself...  I plan on focusing on happy memories... maybe a little scrapbooking, and a little sewing, whatever... and I plan on crying whenever I feel like it.

Today is about closer.
