I'm a homeowner again!!

We just signed the papers for our house.

I hate the paper that shows you the totals that you're paying out. You know, the one that shows the amount of money you're paying in interest. It's depressing.

WHY do they make you sign so much crap??

We had to sign a paper that said we knew the house was new construction. As if you couldn't tell. It didn't smell like dogs or have parrot droppings on the kitchen counter next to the dirty egg plate when we walked through. Why does it matter if it's new construction or not??

We also had to sign four different documents allowing limited release of info. Why not just make that one paper??

And then we had to sign 3 things saying we had signed everything... but if we had missed something, we promised to come back and sign them.

Go figure.

BUT I'm a homeowner again. We can start moving tomorrow at 5pm.

HAPPPPPPYYYYYY DANNNNNCE!!!!

Stress Relief

I remember several years ago my manager at work brought in a list of the fifty most stressful things that can happen to a person. They were things like death in the family or of a close friend, marriage/divorce, moving, changing jobs, etc. The list had a number value assigned to each event and you added up the numbers to find out just how stressed out your life was. I scored pretty high then, I think the last two months though would have me off the charts.

The final two HUGE stresses that have been haunting me for the last two months are now resolved. I'm in a major amount of pain right now, but I feel better than I have in months, thanks to these last two things being resolved (well, that and pain meds).

One, we are closing on the house tomorrow. We had to be out of our current home by the 30th, and the clock was ticking down VERY fast to us being homeless, but we got lucky with our loan officer, and he busted his butt to get things together so we could move this weekend. If I was going to have another child, I'd name the baby after him (his name is Mark though, so I could always tell my husband I named the baby after him!!)

Two, many of you know that I have been dealing with a cancer scare. I had a doctor's visit today, and after some painful procedures, it's pretty positive I am NOT facing cancer, and I get to keep all my body parts! There is one final biopsy pending, however my doctor said it is more of a formality. He gave me permission to rest easy over the long weekend.

I've decided that June will be a 100% stress free month, even if I must bury my head in the sand like an ostrich.

Evan's Office.

About a week ago, Evan pulled his two Lego boxes into the corner in his Dad's office. He then set up his little "lap top" and an old cradle for a cordless phone we don't use on one of the boxes. He's been "going to work" there for the last week. I'm pretty sure he works with/for an international company, because some of his phone calls seem to be in unknown languages.

Today, I caught some pictures of him... although, I had to stop after a few, because it was interfering with his work. (After I stopped with the camera, he started making lunch plans for Old McDonald's and Wendy's though, so I don't think he was too busy.)

Packing...

Every open cupboard is EMPTY. Completely. Nothing but dust. I have officially packed everything in the kitchen (and the rest of the house) that I can... for now. Since we still have to live here for a week and a few days.

Okay, the quality is really bad, but at least you'll get the idea!

Mother's Day.

Well, I hate to brag, but I do believe I received one of the best gifts for Mother's Day... and it didn't come from my son, or my husband. It came from some realtor named Mark and the developer/contractor Mark represents. They accepted the offer we made on a house!!

Soooooo... for my birthday, we sold our house... for Mother's Day, we bought a house... what WILL Christmas bring????

(I'll post pictures soon!!)

Just a tip... or two.

If you're trying to sell your home, and have people coming to look at it, here are just little things that might help:

1. If you own a bird, such as a LARGE GREEN PARROT, place him in his cage. DO NOT allow him to fly around the kitchen, eating crusty food off the dirty dishes sitting on the counter while the potential buyers gag on the smell of cold, sunny side up egg remnants that greeted them upon entry into your ... lovely?... home.

2. If you own animals and decide to lock them in a room while you leave to let the potential buyers roam around your home alone, PUT A FREAKING NOTE ON THE DOOR. That way, when they open the door they will expect a large cat to come screaming out of the room.

Broken

Evan's newest game is playing "broken". I have no idea where he got this idea, but it comes up QUITE often when the little stinker is asked to do something.

"Mom, ohhhhh nooooooo! I'm broken!!!" Then he "faints" with his mouth open.
I learned this weekend there is a minor differance in "playing dead": When you play dead, you have to stick your tongue out.
I was informed of this after he saw this picture.
"MOM!!! You're dead, not BROKEN. We gotta do it again."
