Finally!
I found a reason for twitter!
I've had a twitter account for.ev.er. I have never tweeted anything. Random people follow me... I guess they have me confused by some other Carolyn.
But today, Evan and I discovered you can follow Santa, thanks to Norad, on twitter.
This is really handy this year since Ryan tries to eat the computer power cord whenever he sees it.
Since I havn't figured out how to link when posting from my phone, just visit www.noradsanta.org and click on the twitter link.

A present for Shane
I asked Evan what he wanted to get his Uncle for Christmas.
His response?
A Girlfriend.... but not just ANY girlfriend, one that wouldn't talk a lot, but would let him kiss her. A lot.

Santa
We have the best family run grocery stores here. I drive past the other stores to shop there... and last week was one of the many reasons why.
We were just finishing up, turned the corner, and there sat Santa. Evan was sooooo excited. He climbed up on his lap, and they chatted a little about doing chores, listening to mom, etc.
Then the BIG question.
Santa: What would you like for Christmas?
Evan: (with out hesitation) An Abrams Tank.
S: Oh Dear! A real one??
E: (laughing) Yes! My dad can show me how to drive it!
S: Two years ago I gave Randy (one of the brothers that own the store) a tank and he tried to blow up three Smiths (rival store)!
Evan has been talking about it nonstop.

Oxymoron anyone?
Now, I normally don't post "work" blogs. But I just have to post this one.
I work in a 6 story building full of government agencies. The nice people in my building do a LOT of charity things around the holidays. This year, one of the things we've got going in our building is a food drive for the food bank. We have barrels around the building for collections... and up until yesterday, there was one in our front lobby.
That one was moved.
The email we received regarding the move indicated that it was moved because one of the homeless people who has been taking refuge from the freezing temps outside in our nice toasty building was seen removing items from the bin.
The statement was made in the email that the bin was moved to a more secure location to ensure that the donated food reached the people who "really needed it".
????????????
My thought was why not just attach a can opener to it, and cut out the middle man?
